Access Social Explained
No one understands accessibility better than disabled people ourselves. Across Ireland, disabled people have built up a wealth of real-world knowledge about which restaurants, cafes, bars etc. say they are accessible, and which ones actually are.
This new section of our website brings together community-sourced, lived experience of accessibility in social spaces all across Ireland.
Each listing includes real feedback from our members and community, covering:
Wheelchair accessibility — Can the space fit one wheelchair? Two or more?
Accessible toilets — Are they available? What types of wheelchairs fit (e.g. manual vs electric)?
Sensory factors — Is the space loud? Dimly lit? Overwhelming or welcoming?
Extra details — From staff attitudes and seating options to anything else worth noting
Every entry will also show the last date it was checked, so you know how up-to-date the info is.
