Submissions 2025
Submission to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) – June 2025
In 2025, Ireland was reviewed by the UN CEDAW Committee on how it is meeting its obligations under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW)—an international human rights treaty focused on ending discrimination against women.
Disabled Women Ireland (DWI) submitted an alternative (shadow) report with NeuroPride Ireland focusing on the experiences of disabled women and gender minorities in three key areas:
Gender-based violence
Parenting and family life
Poverty and social exclusion
We also participated in a private virtual briefing with members of the Committee in advance of the State review.

We also contributed to the joint LOIPR submission made by the DPO Network, of which DWI is a member.
That report can be found on the DPO Network’s website.
